It’s a Sizzling Summer at KML
Summer is in full swing at Kayla Moran Law, and I’m so excited about everything that’s unfolding. While many are slowing down for the season, I’ve been leaning into growth and new opportunities—both personally and professionally. One big update I’m thrilled to share is that I recently set up a new virtual office space in Coral Gables!
Growing up in Miami, the Gables is the place to be as a lawyer and businesswoman so to finally have my own shingle in the area is a pinch me moment. It’s so beautiful there and surrounded by amazing restaurants and friends working nearby, it feels like the perfect spot to continue building and evolving my firm.
June quickly approaching marks two months of Lawyer In Your Pocket, Kayla Moran Law’s membership too so there’s even more to celebrate! Plus, for a limited time, our introductory pricing is still available—so if you’ve been thinking about working together, now’s a great moment to jump into the community.
On a fun note, I was invited to attend a few Miami Swim Week events again this year! I’m looking forward to connecting with creatives, entrepreneurs, and other inspiring people in a completely different space. It's always such a fun week and I’m excited to be back. I’ll definitely be sharing behind-the-scenes moments and takeaways, so keep an eye out.
Hot Summer Take: Bar Prep Is Tough — But Totally Worth It
As I was riding home from Universal Orlando’s brand-new Epic Universe on the Brightline, I couldn’t help but think about a bigger conversation happening right now—one I want to tap into. For many of you, summer means bar prep is in full swing. For others, it's deep into LSAT and law school admissions season, writing personal statements, and aiming for a spot in the Class of 2028. For those of us already in practice or friends with lawyers, if you’ve been online lately, you’ve probably seen it too: There’s a growing wave of negativity questioning whether law school is even worth it anymore.
Here’s my take: law school is worth your time and money—but only if you’re doing it for the right reasons.
This is bigger than your favorite TikTok creator’s take (no shade, just facts). The decision to go to law school is deeply personal, and it needs to be grounded in real reflection. Too many people dive in without asking the fundamental question: “Is the legal profession actually what I want?” That kind of clarity should come before you start comparing LSAT scores or shopping for blazer sets.
You can go to law school with any undergraduate degree—so start with something you genuinely enjoy. When students come to me saying they want to be a lawyer, my first question is always: “What experiences have shown you that this is the path for you?” Because experience isn’t just a line on your résumé—it’s a reality check. It's how you figure out whether you can thrive in the day-to-day grind, maintain work-life balance, and stay committed to the long-term path.
If you're still figuring that out, do what you can to get exposure. It’s ok if you don’t have a lot of experience yet. Intern. Shadow an attorney. Take a part-time job at a firm, even as a receptionist. If you've already done the work and still feel called to this profession? Then it's time to talk about schools, strategy, and how to make this journey truly worth it for you.
For those of you in bar prep mode—especially my recent grads—I have a lot of advice on my social channels but if you’re logging off for the summer, don’t go it alone. If you're feeling overwhelmed, unsure of your study plan, or just want someone to gut-check your approach, I’ve opened up some time for one-on-one calls just for you. You can book a session with me to talk it through and get personalized guidance. I’ve been there, I know how you’re feeling and I’m here to help you stay grounded, strategic, and sane through the process.
Personally, leaving Miami to attend the University of Tennessee Winston College of Law (idk how I feel about this name change NGL) was one of the most defining choices I ever made. Three years post-grad (as of a week ago 🎓), I’m still seeing the ripple effects of that decision—professionally and personally.
So whether you're decoding logic games or diving into torts, just know: I see you. You’ve got this. And we’re going to keep this conversation going in upcoming LinkedIn Posts, newsletters and mentorship sessions.
New Media Strategies Means More Growth for KML
As the firm continues to grow, I’ve realized that adapting my media strategy is key to keeping pace with the industry and delivering content that truly connects with my ideal client. To make that happen, I’ve started carving out designated media days—specific times where I can focus solely on creating, filming, and editing without distractions. This shift has helped me be more intentional and consistent, which I know makes a difference for all of you following along.
I’ve also invested in some new tools to boost the quality of what I put out there. A new video monitor now helps me see every detail while filming, and better microphones ensure that my voice comes through clear and professional. These upgrades aren’t just about looking and sounding better—they’re about creating a more engaging, authentic experience that makes you feel like we’re having a real conversation. And that I care about you. Because I do. And I understand the issues you face better than most.
You’ll also notice I’m putting out more talking-head videos—where I get to speak directly to you, share advice, and be a little more open and personal. For me, that kind of connection is everything, especially as we navigate this journey together.
Growth means pivoting and trying new approaches, and I’m embracing that fully. The goal is to keep evolving so I can bring you the best possible content, support, and insights—because you deserve nothing less.
Inside Media Week at Universal Orlando Epic Universe
Speaking of media! After an unreal week at the Grand Opening Media Week for Universal Orlando’s new park Epic Universe, where I had the chance to explore all four immersive worlds — I’m back ready to grind out more content and contracts but before I do, yes I’m sharing my official ranking (with some must-try experiences too 👀).
🎮 1. Super Nintendo World
This was hands-down my favorite. Walking through the Portal to Peach’s Castle and into a world of Question Blocks, Koopa Troopas, and power-ups was like stepping into the game. The highlight? Racing through Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge — it’s a wild AR-meets-practical ride that had me laughing, yelling, and seriously trying to win. I swear this game got me into F1 ha.
And don’t sleep on the food: the ube pizza from Pizza Moon right outside the portal is wild in the best way. Bright purple, slightly sweet, and so good I almost ordered a second slice.
🐉 2. Isle of Berk (How to Train Your Dragon)
This world is stunning. From the moment you enter through the massive Viking gates, you’re in the world of dragons — and yes, I got to meet Toothless (yes, the Toothless!). The Hiccup’s Wing Gliders ride gives you panoramic views of the whole park, is so smooth and the world itself is packed with kinetic energy, flame effects, and Viking charm.
Pro tip: grab a classic mac ’n’ cheese cone at Hooligan’s Grog and Gruel — it’s rich, cheesy, and tucked into a warm bread cone that tastes like an everything bagel. Trust me.
🪄 3. Ministry of Magic
Set in a mystical 1930s Paris just like Fantastic Beasts is, this world feels like a living, breathing part of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. From casting spells with interactive wands to navigating hidden alleyways, there’s so much detail here. I spent nearly an hour just walking around and doing magic at the Ministry — and the spell effects are some of the best I’ve seen. If you're a Harry Potter fan, this is your new home.
Don’t forget a frozen Butterbeer or Butterbeer crepe or stop at Bar Moonshine for sparkling tea (literally)!
🧛 4. Dark Universe
This might be #4, for me, but it’s still a must-see. The vibe is gothic, eerie, and incredibly immersive — think Frankenstein’s lab meets modern horror. Fog rolls through the streets, eerie music sets the tone, and you’ll find yourself nervously peeking around corners. If you’re into monsters and moody atmospheres, this land delivers. Also check out Monsters Unchained the animatronics of this ride are INCREDIBLE.
Every world in the Epic Universe has its own identity, energy, and wow moments — but if I had to choose where to start? Super Nintendo World, no question. Definitely make sure to check out my recap on my Instagram.
